Youth Camp Week 3.

Youth camp 2012 is now over :(

Here's a recap of last week :)

Ash aka my makeup artist.
Her smile lights up a room and the way she goes after God is inspiring.
Keep looking up, girl.

Travis.. Oh Travis.. He pushed me off a golf cart and now I still can't move my neck.
(Ok, so maybe I fell off but lets just blame everything on him.)

Joshhhhhh. He's my buddy.
I never thought that passing out leftover oreo's could be so much fun until I met him :)

Honey bun otherwise known as Matt.
This kid makes me laugh. I will miss him dearly.

And last but not least..
Some of my best friends.

Being at youth camp has taught me a lot so lessons from this week-

You reap what you sow.
If the Lord says it, do it.
Some middle school boys really just don't shower.
Press on.

Fight the good fight, keep the faith and finish the race.

One reason why I worship.

Because your love is better than life,
   my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.

~Psalm 63:3-4

Youth Camp Week 2.

2 weeks down of Youth Camp, 1 more to go!

Pictures pictures and more pictures :)

This gorgeous girl is so beautiful, inside and out.
She has a wonderful talent of being able to curl her hair in 2 seconds that I am completely envious of.

Reina and Adam. :)
I'm going to miss having my daily twizzler and pretzel picnics with Adam. Such a sweet guy.

This is Sarah. She has become closer then a sister to me in these past 2 weeks. Thank you so much sweetie for your love and for opening your home and heart to me!

Reina and Sarah. :)
Reina is my little hamster. Her laugh sounds like a guinea pig and it is the cutest thing in the world.

Crazy boys, I love their smiles. :)

These two.. Ohmygoodness. Two of the most genuine, beautiful and sweet girls I have ever met. The way they are impacting the world for the Lord is phenomenal. Keep sharing his love, girls.

Rach. I will miss her SO much. Her hugs and laughs were always the highlights of my day.

Some of the best kids from this week :)

This girl was an absolute sweetheart. Never once said anything negative and always had a smile on her face. I loved seeing Jesus work in her!
And these guys.. This is me with Pneuma, one of the traveling worship teams from Valley Forge Christian College.
These guys have become some of my best friends over the past 2 weeks. From having a twin to breakfast dates with the boys, I will miss all of the memories that have been created and will just miss them.

Lessons from this week!
(Oh the fun things you learn while at youth camp.)
Patience really is a virtue.
Don't throw snowballs.
John May loves the same exact 3 songs.
If Jesus tells you something, you better sure do it.
Love is the most powerful force of all.
God, even though we don't understand sometimes, always has a plan.

If you have the Lord, that is all you need.

Preparing my heart.

Going to sleep at 1am only to wake up at frantically at 6am worried that you are late to the morning staff meeting.
That's how you know you've been to Youth Camp.

So as I sit here at 6:30am on a day where I could be sleeping until 10 I am remembering all of last week and preparing my heart for this next week.

Some events have happened over the weekend that will make this week a hard one. A very challenging one. Not to mention the number of kids we have. The Lord has blessed us making this the biggest week of all 3.

Last week was amazing. The Lord moved SO much in not only the kids lives but also in the staff's. So for Satan to throw us a curveball like he has over the weekend is only natural. But guess what? We're ready for it. Ready to tackle him head on.

I have been staying with my friend Sarah over the weekend to avoid the long drive home and as we have been talking she told me what the Lord told her last week.
She is about to enter into a huge transition time in her life, changing from a christian college to a secular one and moving from Virginia to Florida. So the Lord has been preparing her heart and mind to take on the world.
One night at camp as she was praying, the Lord told her that just like Peter, if we want to stay walking towards the Lord we must keep our eyes directed up to him.

24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning[a] Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.
Matthew 14:24-33

My missions for this week?
Even when it gets hard, keep my eyes on the Lord.
Show the kids that who they are in the Lord is so beautiful.
Make everyone believe that they are precious in his sight.
And last but not least,
Just have fun being where I love with who I love.

Youth Camp Week 1.

One word to describe this week.
Unforgettable.

God moved in so many ways from providing me with AMAZING people around me to speaking directly to me about some things that I have been praying about.

The kids were so great this week. To see that many youth go after Christ with all of their hearts was a honor.

Caroline had a heart of gold, when I would go in to tell them goodnight for lights out she would always say "Goodnight favorite security person ever. Love you!" and it made my day everyday.
These boys are CRAZY. I was wearing my glasses one day and they nicknamed them my "Hannah Swag." Seeing them impact the people around them for the Lord this week was crazy awesome.

And this is Adam.. Oh Adam.
Every team during the week prepares a human video to perform for points at the end of the week.
Adam was our human video genius, getting the honor of playing our District Youth Director in a spoof.  Adam is such a great man of God and I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for him.

Some of my best friends from the week and for life.

Some of the best quotes from this week-

"The message of the cross is not that your goodness keeps you in but that your badness doesn't keep you out."

"God didn't pay half price for you, he paid the full price."

"He who walks with the wise grow wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. -Proverbs 13:20"

And of course you can't forget,
"I like that."
"That was beary scary."
Awkward raindrop.
Jesus made the stars and he made you.
Skype me, text me, call me.... Maybe.

Song of the week-

Oh how I love adventures. :)

It's just me and Jesus.

"Can I say something to young ladies here?
I'm trying to pick words carefully here.
Your husband, whoever he is, will have an unbelievable amount of influence over your sons and daughters in regards to spiritual things. If you want your children to love Jesus deeply, hold out for a man that is Godly. And let me tell you this: I am well aware that Godly men are rare. Lots of neat christian boys, not a lot of Godly men. And we're working our tails off for you to try to develop some into that. But don't settle, because it's better that you be lonely now then you be married and lonely later. It is better that you be lonely now then for you to get married to a man that will teach your kids everything but the way of Jesus."
-Matt Chandler

Lesson for today-
Hold out for God's timing and plans.

June 10th.

 Today.

Spent time with these crazy kids and many more.

I drove up to Baltimore after church to spend some time with my family up here and got to surprise one of my best friends, Katie for her graduation party. It was a wonderful day.
I have missed these people.

Lesson for today-
Don't let valuable moments get away from you.
